Celtic v Ross County Preview And Predictions - Scottish Premiership Week 31

Celtic will be looking to maintain their three point advantage at the top of the table when they welcome Ross County. The league leaders are unbeaten in their last 24 league matches, however they will be tested against a Ross County team that come into the game off the back of three consecutive wins. Recent Form

Celtic may look at Old Firm rivals Rangers with some envy given the latter are making good progress in Europe, but Ange Postecoglou’s men are still in the running for a domestic treble and will expect to maintain momentum here.

They’ve now won 20 of 23 unbeaten league games to establish a three-point lead over the Gers, while their form at home has been nothing short of imperious.

The Hoops have won 15 of 17 unbeaten domestic matches on home turf this season, scoring at least twice in 12 of these and a minimum of three times in eight.

They registered clean sheets on 13 occasions, including an impressive seven of eight since the start of December. In fact, the last nine at Parkhead have all resulted in maximum points, so a slip-up here would come as a real surprise.

Having said that, Ross County have found some form and have lost just once across their past eight matches, winning four of these including the last three on the spin.

However, a note of caution should be sounded given the quality of the teams they’ve overcome, as all but one of their nine victories this term have come against teams currently eighth or lower in the table.

Celtic To Win To Nil

At least one team has failed to score in 10 of 12 head-to-heads since 2017/18, with Celtic managing eight clean sheets across these clashes. Ross County did find the net on four occasions, but three of these were when hosting the Glaswegian giants.

Limited to games at Parkhead alone, the Celtic win to nil has landed in seven of eight meetings since 2016/17.

The visitors have clearly struggled against the Old Firm duo in recent times and have actually lost 15 of 17 league games since 2019/20, drawing a blank on 11 occasions and in seven of eight on their travels.

Each of those eight away days saw them lose by a minimum two-goal margin, though the handicap doesn’t perhaps offer the greatest value with the Hoops expected to claim an easy victory.
