Regardless of how this campaign finishes, Gallas is convinced Antonio Conte is the right man to coach Tottenham – and believes the Italian will try to turn the North London side into Premier League title challengers next season.
Conte replaced Nuno Espirito Santo as Spurs boss in November last year after the former Wolves manager presided over a poor start to the season, and has overseen significant improvement.
“Antonio Conte is the right man for Tottenham,” Gallas added.
“With his desire to win every game and his passion, he will take some players to push themselves to the highest level because when you play in the Premier League, you have to be at the highest level.
“That's why sometimes it's very difficult to play in the Premier League because you have to be consistent and that's not easy, but with Conte, he's got that desire and he shows that every day and every game.
“He speaks to his players and he explains, ‘Okay, last week we had a great game but next game we have to do the same thing’, so I think he's the right manager for Tottenham.
“He's just arrived at Tottenham and if he stays, which I hope he does, I'm sure he'll choose the right players for next season to try and compete for the title.”
