Rangers are facing questions for the first time in ages as they went down to Malmo in Sweden last week, before Dundee Utd sprang a shock as they ended the Gers’ 40-match unbeaten league run.

That domestic result should prove a mere blip however. In truth, Rangers had the better of the opening half with both Alfredo Morelos and James Tavernier coming close, while they dominated after the break before falling behind against the run of play.

The campaign is still young and Rangers have time to deal with the weekend’s setback, but time is not on their side when it comes to the second-leg meeting with Malmo. Steven Davis’ 95th-minute effort handed them a lifeline in Sweden though, but with no away goals rule at this stage of the competition, Steven Gerrard’s men will have to score twice if they’re to advance without the aid of extra time.

Malmo didn’t have it all their own way at the weekend as they were held to a goalless stalemate with bottom-half outfit Halmstad, but it still leaves them unbeaten in nine across all competitions.

That includes five Champions League qualifiers as they’d previously navigated their way past Latvian’s Riga and Finish side HJK, beating both at home and earning draws on the road.

The weekend stalemate was also the first time in 19 competitive outings where Malmo had drawn a blank going back to the start of April, with both teams registering in 14 of these.

Both Teams To Score

The Swedish side haven’t had any great difficulty finding the net in Europe, failing to score in just six of their last 30 such games, and only once across the past 11 as that came against Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg.

Rangers might possess an impressive defensive pedigree domestically, but last week’s result means they’ve shut their opponents out in just one of their past nine in Europe, with over half of those games featuring a minimum of four goals.

On paper, this looks like being an entertaining second leg, and the hosts will be aided in their quest for goals with the go-ahead for a full capacity at Ibrox.

Although Kemar Roofe remains absent for the Gers, they will have Alfredo Morelos back for this clash having missed the first encounter, with the combustible Colombian returning at the weekend.

Veljko Birmancevic To Score Anytime

With goals on the agenda, Malmo winger Veljko Birmancevic appeals at the prices to register at some stage.

The 23-year-old has been in fine form at the sharp end with six goals from his last seven appearances, including one last week against Rangers themselves, despite five of those outings coming from the bench.

Both Teams To Score At 10/11

0.5pts: Veljko Birmancevic To Score Anytime At 4/1
