MAN UNITED V MAN CITY
These two squared off last month and after a drab goalless stalemate, there’s hope of a greater spectacle this time around.
There’s been a minimum of four goals in eight of Man Utd’s past 12 fixtures, including tussles with top sides PSG, Leipzig and Leicester, while Man City have rediscovered their scoring touch in recent outings as they’ve scored nine times in three games, including big wins over Arsenal (4-1) and Chelsea (3-1).
Early goals have helped ease City into their stride and they’ve now found the opener in nine of their past 11 outings, as the two exceptions were both goalless draws.
They’ve scored inside 20 minutes in each of their last four games, while Man Utd have been tending to find plenty of joy late on in proceedings.
Man Utd +0.5 Asian Handicap
United have won five of six unbeaten matches since that last Manchester derby, outgunning their opponents by an aggregate 16-7, and they’ll hope to take advantage of the coronavirus outbreak in City’s camp.
Gabriel Jesus and Kyle Walker are confirmed cases, but Ederson, Nathan Ake and Ferran Torres were all notable absentees from the squad that travelled to Chelsea on Sunday, while Aymeric Laporte remains sidelined by injury.
Still, the disruption hasn’t halted results and Pep Guardiola’s charges have now lost just once in 21 outings, winning eight of the last unbeaten 11.
The centre-back partnership between John Stones and Ruben Dias is looking ever more promising, though with just two clean sheets in five, it would be a surprise if their in-form hosts failed to register at some stage.
United can take encouragement from recent head-to-head results as they’re W3-D1-L1 since start of last season, winning two of the last three, and at the prices look a decent bet to avoid defeat.
That’s especially the case with their visitors depleted, while the Red Devils have benefited from the schedule as they’ve enjoyed a couple of extra days rest having last played on Friday.
Bruno Fernandes To Score Anytime
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have to make do without the services of Edinson Cavani, but he’ll have been pleased to see Anthony Martial back on the scoresheet last time out and the Frenchman has three goals in his past four starts in the Manchester derby.
However, teammate Bruno Fernandes steals the thunder in the scoring markets and the Portuguese maestro has delivered 15 goals in 21 matches this season when starting from the off.
That includes four from his past five outings, and he’ll be seeking to open his account in this fixture at the third attempt.
