St. Etienne v PSG
Paris Saint-Germain are currently 11 points clear in Ligue 1 after 14 games having only lost one so far this season. They have had less success in the Champions League having lost their most recent match to Manchester City 2-1 on Wednesday, having initially gone 1-0 up thanks to Kylian Mbappe, but couldn’t keep the quality of City out of their danger area. St. Etienne are quite the opposite, sitting in 19th placen and have only garnered 12 points in the first 14 games, having one of their worst seasons in recent history.
The last time that PSG lost to St. Etienne in the league, was in 2012 where the end result was 2-1 which saw a sending off for Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the 71st minute. There have been over 3.5 match goals on four occasions out of the last nine meetings of the two teams, while the Parisiens have seen that land in three of their last four outings. The hosts have the second worst defensive record in the league, and against this fluid attack could very well come unstuck

Marseille v Troyes
Marseille have been knocked out of the Europa League after suffering a 4-2 defeat from Turkish giants Galatasaray. Les Olympiens have not even managed a win yet in the group stages having a record of D4-L1 whilst Galatasaray remain unbeaten. Troyes are currently sitting one spot off the relegation zone whilst Marseille are at a comfortable 5th and will look to jump to third in the table if they win this game in hand.
Since 2015, these teams have played four games against each other with Troyes only managing a single point in a 1-1 home draw. In these outings, there has been an average of 4.25 match goals with Marseille scoring most of them, including a 6-0 home win. In Marseille’s home games this season, 57% of them have resulted in more than 3.5 match goals. More importantly, 75% of their home games against teams in the bottom seven have resulted in more than 3.5 match goals.

Lyon v Montpellier
Lyon came from 1-0 down to beat Danish team Brondby IF 3-1 on Thursday night, a second-half brace from wonder-kid Rayan Cherki and a headed goal from ex Leicester city forward Islam Slamani sealed the deal which knocked their opponents out of the Europa League.
Lyon and Montpellier are on the same amount of points going into this game with both teams managing five wins and four draws. As things stand if Lyon win their game in hand they could see themselves moving up four places to sixth in Ligue 1. Since the start of 2016, these teams have played 14 times in all competitions, Lyon have a slight edge with a record of W6-D4-L4.
However, Montpellier have won the last three meetings and there have also been three red cards in these games. Montpellier is good value to win this game considering that Lyon aren’t at the level we’re used to seeing from them, while their Thursday fixture may just add an element of fatigue to their performance here.
