Juventus v Roma Preview And Betting Tips

As Serie A reaches its final game there isn’t quite the same aura of excitement like the Premier League had, with the Champions League and Europa League spots having already been decided. There are still some reputations on the line and no doubt champions Juventus will want to beat old rivals Roma. Expert tipsters Form Labs guide you to where the value might lie with their betting preview and tips for the game.

Recent Form

The Old Lady claimed their ninth consecutive title after beating Sampdoria in their own backyard last weekend, but it seemed the celebrations had an effect on their latest midweek result having gone down 2-0 at 13th-placed Cagliari.

That does mean they’ve won just two of their last seven outings, but if we consider their home form this term (W16-D2), then that doesn’t exactly worry us too much.

Perhaps the most frustrated man at that recent goalless defeat was Cristiano Ronaldo, as his campaign for the Capocannoniere took a further step back following a goal from Ciro Immobile on the same night for Lazio, meaning the Italian striker draws ever nearer his third such title, with four goals now separating himself and the Portuguese great.

Given no side is playing for anything but pride we can expect this to be a pretty fluid game. Roma are currently the form side in the league having won six of their last seven unbeaten outings, racking up a tally of 20 goals, though they did also concede in all but one of these too.

That solitary stalemate came in their hardest fixture against Inter and against the breakaway top seven sides, they’ve lost a feeble four of six winless games this calendar year, which includes defeats in all three trips to Atalanta, Milan and Napoli.

Interestingly, four of those six such matches saw more than two goals as they’ve always provided some entertainment, including when Juve came to the Stadio Olimpico and scored twice within the opening 10 minutes.

Juventus To Beat Roma

For the last time the Giallorossi beat Juventus in Turin you have to go back to the 2010/11 Copa Italia quarter-finals, as the hosts for this weekend have won all 10 of their meetings here since.

We’re a little surprised to see their price at odds-against then, especially since they’ve won their final game in three of their last four seasons, as they like to go out on a high no matter if they’ve already lifted the trophy already or not.

We would obviously like to couple that bet with there being a goal frenzy, but at the current price it seems the market has already factored in the fact that Ronaldo will be on a mission to bag as many as he can.

Not to mention, four of the most recent five head-to-heads in the league alone have seen a maximum of just two goals and so we’ll stick to just the outright bet for this one.

Juventus To Beat Roma At 15/8
