Arsenal’s latest game against Wolves was cancelled due to their opposition not being able to field enough players, it could be said that this came at the best time possible because Arsenal were one of the only teams to not have a game called off and had already played 6 games in December.
Before this game was scheduled to be played, the Gunners had won their last four games on the bounce and had only conceded one goal whilst scoring 14 which puts them in the best position possible to get a result out of this tough game for them.
Manchester City had been on a goal-scoring rampage before they played Brentford on Wednesday, the Citizens managed to score 17 goals in just three games, but the Bees had other plans.
Brentford put on a fantastic performance by being very organised when defending and disrupting City’s build-up play. However, a goal from Phil Foden in the first half was enough for the Sky Blues to come away with all three points.
Man City To Win To Nil
Since the start of 2016, City have played the Gunners 16 times and Man City have only lost two of those outings, which were both FA Cup semi-finals. Out of the 12 Premier League games that have occurred during this time, Arsenal have never won and only drawn twice which means City’s record against Arsenal is W10-D2.
In these 12 league games, Pep Guardiola’s side have scored 30 goals whilst the Gunners have only managed seven and in the last nine they have played, City take the aggregate score to 24-2, which really shows how dominant the Sky Blues are in this fixture, with each of the last five meetings seeing the Manchester club win to nil.
Arsenal will be at home for this game, where they seem to play their best football, the Gunners were on equal points at home (22) before City played their latest home game but it seems that venue doesn’t affect the visitors much because they have gained equal points both home and away this year.
They are the team to beat at the moment and nobody seems to be able to pull it off with them winning their last ten premier league games.
It is very clear how dominant Manchester City have been against Arsenal over the last five years and because of that the best bet here is City win-to-nil
