Recent Form

Rangers haven’t let the pressure of their title bid affect them at any stage this season and they remain unbeaten in the Scottish Premiership with an astonishing 25 wins from 29 games.

Even if Celtic win their game in hand over an out-of-form Aberdeen on Wednesday as expected, Rangers would still lead the domestic standings by a full 15 points.

There’s a clear sense of resilience from Steven Gerrard’s men and results in Europe under current management would suggest their focus won’t waver here either.

Rangers have lost just once in all competitions since a delayed second-leg of the last edition of the Europa League against Bayer Leverkusen back in August (W32-D6-L1).

Their current unbeaten run stands at 10 wins from 12 appearances, and although they’ve only triumphed by more than a single goal in one of their past eight, the sheer relentless nature in which they’ve picked up results makes them clear favourites here.

Rangers To Beat Antwerp

The Gers are W17-D7-L3 in Europe since the start of last season. That includes seven wins from nine unbeaten matches this term, featuring a play-off win over Turkish giants Galatasaray, as only Benfica were able to take points off them in the group stages.

Last season they escaped from a tough looking group featuring Porto, Feyenoord and Young Boys, before downing Sporting Braga with victories in both knockout legs, as Leverkusen eventually put a stop to their run in the Last 16.

Antwerp are W11-D3-L9 since November and are prone to the odd defeat even domestically, as they trail Belgian league leaders Club Brugge by 13 points.

They registered just five clean sheets over this spell and are without one in five appearances now, conceding eight times across these recent fixtures.

The Belgian outfit aren’t by any means a poor outfit and even shocked Tottenham with a win here in the group stages.

However, head coach Franky Vercauteren has a number of injury concerns ahead of this clash, following on from a bruising physical encounter at the weekend.

Veteran striker Dieumerci Mbokani has eight goals for the season but has missed the past four weeks with a calf injury, while the replacement in his absence, Dider Lamkel Ze, is suspended for this clash. Defender Dylan Batubinsika and holding midfielder Faris Haroun are also missing, so they’re not at full strength for this encounter.

Rangers have an incredible defensive record this term, but Israeli playmaker Lior Refaelov (who is Antwerp’s top scorer this term with 10 goals) will test their resolve.

The Belgian side don’t often fail to score, while Rangers have been more prone to conceding goals in Europe than domestically, so we’ll stick with the away win rather than coupling it with a clean sheet.
