Genting Club Stoke stages recruitment open day
Genting Club Stoke is kicking off the new year with a recruitment open day on Wednesday 14 January.
The event is open to everyone over the age of 18 years and looks to showcase the array of career opportunities available at the Etruria Road, Hanley casino.
Manager Joanne Maddick, who started her career as a hospitality waitress with Genting 26 years ago, said: “Working in a casino offers a huge variety of opportunities for people from hospitality to being a croupier. My career has taken me around the world, having spent two years working in South Africa and into a management position.
“We hope the open day will dispel any misconceptions the public may have about working in a casino and we will be available to answer any questions. Many people think it’s a male dominated profession but with three female managers on our six strong management team this is not the case.”
There will be two drop-in sessions on Wednesday 14 January – from 11am to 4pm and from 5pm to 9pm – and will offer people the chance to try their hand at dealing cards, playing roulette, view and sample the food on offer and enjoy free refreshments.
The venue is seeking to recruit a receptionist, cashier, hospitality team members, poker dealers and croupiers who will attend the on-site croupier training school.
Joanne added: “This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who wants a genuine career path. No previous experience is necessary as we can teach the skills, but we do want people who have big personalities and enjoy working within a team.”
