Manchester City v Sheffield United

Pep Guardiola has only won the FA Cup once, but the manner in which he did it perfectly encapsulates the ruthlessness of his City side. The Sky Blues tormented Watford in the 2019 Final, beat them 6-0, and collected an unprecedented domestic treble in the process.

City could still win the FA Cup, Premier League, and Champions League this season and become the first team to haul all of these trophies in the same season since Manchester United back in 1999.

Guardiola’s side are the heavy-favourites against Sheffield United, but an upset can never be ruled out. City, after all, know what it’s like to suffer a shock-defeat in the FA Cup, as they famously lost to Wigan Athletic 10 years ago.

Erling Haaland could extend his record-breaking season even further and help give City’s push for the treble even more momentum. Phil Foden will be assessed as he recovers from illness, but otherwise there are no new injury concerns for the Sky Blues.

Sheffield United’s impressive season could get even better should they pull-off a victory and the Blades could very much still achieve automatic promotion and reach their first FA Cup Final since 1925.

Manchester City v Sheffield United, Wembley, Saturday 22nd April, kick-off at 16:45 GMT.

Manchester United v Brighton

Erik ten Hag’s made his Manchester United debut in a defeat against Brighton on the opening day of the season, however the Red Devils have landed on their feet since then.

United claimed the other domestic cup back in February and they’re hunting a first FA Cup win since 2016. Brighton have never won the FA Cup, but they did finish as runners-up in 1983 against, ironically, Manchester United.

Fourty years later, and the Seagulls have cemented themselves as one of the Premier League’s most exciting sides, with stars like Alexis Mac Allister and Karou Mitoma shining down on the south coast. The Seagulls are pushing for Europe in their domestic campaign and could even finish in the top four if the stars align for them.

Manchester United are currently in the midst of an injury crisis, but the influential duo of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen have returned. Evan Ferguson is unavailable for the Seagulls, however we can expect a similar starting XI to the one that recently beat Chelsea.

Manchester United vs Brighton, Wembley Stadium, Sunday 23rd April, kick-off at 16:45 pm GMT.
