What a game we have in store. Wales currently remain unbeaten at the head of the Six Nations with 19 points, but this is perhaps their toughest test yet on the road at a French team who trial them by nine points with a game in hand.
Fabien Galthie’s charges will still be hurting from their defeat at Twickenham last weekend, but that was an extremely high quality encounter and the English just happened to turn up to a game for the first time this tournament.
That remains their only defeat under current management over 80 minutes when excluding that first half red card they received against Scotland at this tournament last year.
That’s also five wins at Stade de France as the closest anyone has got to them at this stadium being the seven points last years’ Six Nations winners England managed just over 12 months ago.
The Welsh have been the surprise package so far this tournament beating everything in their path and are on course for a Grand Slam.
They have had some good fortune to be in their current position though, with wins against Ireland and Scotland thanks to opposition red cards, while their victory over England saw some very questionable refereeing on display.
Credit must still go to them, and having won eight of their last 11 against Les Bleus since 2012, including three of five at Stade de France, they’ll obviously fancy their chances.

However, the French have come on leaps and bounds under current management and we wouldn’t look into those historical matches too much. They won the two most recent of them under Galthie and that looks a much better representation of the form line.
It doesn’t make pretty reading for Welsh fans when you consider they’ve lost eight of their 12 matches outside the Principality Stadium dating back to the World Cup in 2019, only beating Georgia, Scotland and Italy (twice).
However, considering only once have they lost by more than 11 points in the Six Nations since the start of the 2015 tournament, the winning margin holds considerable appeal.
France have won by fewer than 12 points in all their five tournaments victories under Galthie when excluding Italy, and they look the option to get behind in what should be an enthralling yet tight encounter.
