Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua is a £200million fight, it could challenge for the highest grossing fight in boxing history

Fury v Joshua Insights - Dr. Rob Wilson

RW: “Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua would be the pinnacle of British boxing, certainly in the modern era, it would be a truly global event.

“I think if you've got Wembley at full capacity, so 90,000 plus fans, ticket revenues on their own could probably be somewhere in the region of 15 to 20 million, add in global pay-per-view, think that could easily get through the 100 million worldwide.

“With grossing bracket, sponsorship, secondary revenues, we’re talking something in the region of £200 million as a potential fight.

“Now, if it did get to that sort of value, it could well challenge for the highest grossing fight ever. But I personally think given the stage that these two fighters are at in their career in the retiring or not retiring, it would probably fall just short of that historic Mayweather-Pacquiao level unless they really nail the international distribution and the kind of activation of the fight worldwide.

“Now whether Wembley can achieve that and a fight in the UK can achieve that remains to be seen. You would imagine that the likes of Las Vegas and probably Saudi would be quite interested in hosting that fight as well.

“If they were to move into one of those areas, they might be able to generate a bit more. So let's see. It could make upwards of 200 million if they're lucky, more likely in the 150 to 200 million pound bracket.”
