The Red Queen, which is played on a 5 (expandable to 6) reel, 3-row gaming grid, evaluates rewards using a ways system rather than a paylines mechanism. When three or more identical symbols land on adjacent reels from the left side of the board, players receive a monetary reward. Using a medium-to-highly volatile mathematical model, it generates a maximal return to player value of 96.06%. Without an Ante Bet or Feature Buy, participants choose a wager between 0.20 and 100 per game round.

Generally, standard pay symbols appear in 1x1 size, but they can also be divided so that up to four instances of the same symbol are displayed in the same cell. The paytable begins with 10-A card ranks as the lowest paying symbols, with payouts of 0.3 to 0.5 times the wager for five of a kind, increasing to 1 to 2.5 times the wager for five OAK premium character symbols; the Queen is the highest paying symbol. If the sixth reel is enabled, the payout for six-of-a-kind increases to 0.5 to 5 times the wager. The wild symbol, which appears on reels 2, 3, 4, and 5, can potentially assist by substituting for any of the pay symbols. Additionally, Mystery symbols appear with a reasonable frequency. When Mystery symbols are visible, they transform into one, two, or four instances of an arbitrary pay symbol.

The visible scatter symbols transform into wilds with a random multiplier of x2, x3, or x4 during this feature. They remain on the reels for the subsequent respin and contribute to all subsequent winning combinations they are a part of. If multiple wilds contribute to the same success, the multiplier values multiply one another.

Scatter symbols can land on reels 2, 4, or 6 in the basic game. Three or four of them activate the free spins feature. A clock is used to determine the number of free rounds awarded. If three scatter symbols activate the bonus round, the area from 12 to 4 will be coloured green. If four scatter symbols trigger the bonus round, the area from 12 to 6 will be green. The clock spins and grants the number of free spins indicated by where it pauses. If it stops on a green segment, it rotates again, stacking the free spins that have been awarded.
