Its play area consists of a matrix of 20 paylines and five reels holding three symbols each.

When at least three matching symbols appear on neighbouring reels, starting on the leftmost reel, players receive a payout down the paylines. Food items are prominently featured on the paytable, as you might expect, and six of them have been used as the greatest pay symbols. The Hot Bar has 5 stages, and it takes 3 steps to fill each stage. One of the barbeque symbols is shown on each level in ascending sequence. A stage's associated symbol is upgraded to the following symbol on the Hot Bar and only shows on the reels as the upgraded symbol for the remainder of the round when all three steps of that stage have been completed. Only the highest-value Ghost Pepper will show up from the barbeque symbols if all phases of the Hot Bar are filled.
