The Group H leaders go head-to-head tonight as they bid for top spot and one foot in next summer’s European Championship. Both sides ran out 1-0 winners in their respective fixtures on Friday, as Cenk Tosun’s 90th minute winner for Turkey broke Albanian hearts, while an Olivier Giroud penalty was enough to obtain three points for France in their visit to Reykjavik.
A stellar first half performance saw the Turks grab a 2-0 win over Didier Deschamps’ men in the reverse fixture, though on home soil the French will be less forgiving.
Indeed, a 3-2 friendly defeat to Colombia is Les Bleus’ sole defeat in their last 18 home fixtures, which includes victories over the likes of Italy, the Netherlands, Germany and Uruguay to name a few.
Despite the results, it’s France’s goalscoring prowess under Deschamps that really tickles our fancy. In 13 home qualifiers under him, France have scored three or more goals on nine occasions, including in all three of the current campaign so far.
Although those most recent games were against weaker opposition in Iceland, Albania and Andorra, France are not yet safe in this group and will know a defeat here could see Iceland move to within three points of them.
With a further two games still to go after this one, they’ll be desperate to ease the pressure tonight and we fully expect them to produce the kind of performance the world knows they’re capable of.

Turkey, however, are no pushover. Since Senol Gunes took charge of the national side in March, they’ve won eight of nine outings and their 2-0 victory over the French sees them top of this group on head-to-head results.
However, their away from makes for less pretty reading. Only three of those nine such games came away from their homeland, and they’ve only won four of their last 14 road trips, including defeats to the likes of Iceland, Romania and the Ukraine.
Although not exactly weak sides, those teams aren’t on par with the world champions, so we expect Les Blues to come good in this one.

However, the France to score 3+ goals market does not look anywhere near good enough at the prices when considering their visitors have kept eight clean sheets in their last 10 outings.
Although we’re convinced that they won’t make that nine from 11 here, their young squad have shown enough to suggest that they’ll pierce the French backline at least once over the 90 too, so the BTTS market looks attractive.
