Having lost the Europa League, they've probably missed out on something between £10million to £15million in direct prize money.
That was made up of around £4million for winning the final, somewhere between £3million and £5million from an increased UEFA coefficient share.
Then there's stuff around commercial bonuses, appearance fees, match day revenues that they would have benefited from. What we then need to remember of course is that there will also be an offset there.
So they won't have bonus payments to pay, for instance, for their player wages. So that's quite an important factor to factor in.
The qualification that they'vemissed out on in the Champions League has cost them around about 80 to 100 million euros of additional revenue. That revenue is due to broadcast gate receipts and some of those UEFA payments.
The fact that they've missed out on that revenue is quite a blow to their budget line and will affect what they're able to do in the transfer market this summer, not just from an amount of cash perspective and what they can spend on transfers but also the type of players they can attract as a result of having no European football given their league position.
There's some significant reputational impact for me that you would bake into this as well. Sponsors obviously pay for success and failing to lift the trophy last night and their league position dents the kind of narratives that those sponsors can use for leverage in commercial negotiations.
The offset to that is a lot of Manchester United sponsors will have clauses in their contracts where they don't have to pay as much if the club is not participating in Europe.
An estimated impact for me having lost last night is the missed revenue of 100 million euros (£85million). That's made up of a bit of prize money from the UEFA and the missed Champions League qualification.
