‘It sure sounds like a duck’ Jon Jones was ‘afraid’ of losing to Tom Aspinall

Jones said he wanted a lot of money for this fight with Tom Apsinall, but at the end of the day he just didn't want it, so I mean, it sure sounds like a duck, right?

I don't think Jones is afraid of anybody, I just think he's afraid of the ‘L’ word. He doesn't like losing and he didn't want it anymore.

Jones is the type of guy that wants to win at all costs, and if he feels the adversary is potentially very dangerous, he will consider his options. I think we all know that Tom Aspinall at heavyweight is a big threat.

He kept putting up roadblocks and kept avoiding Tom over and over again, it was getting a little ridiculous how much he was avoiding Tom.

And I was just thinking, when is the UFC going to have enough? I was thinking that maybe Jones was playing so he could get the money he wanted.

And maybe they did give him the money he wanted, but then maybe at the end of the day he decided he didn't want to risk losing against Aspinall.

Jon Jones will remembered like Lance Armstrong

He's gonna be remembered by some as the greatest of all time, not by me because I remember what you do outside [the cage], how you played the game.

He has been caught cheating, so how can you consider him the greatest? If Lance Armstrong is not the greatest cyclist of all time because he was caught doping, then how can Jon Jones be considered the greatest of all time?

To me it's what you do outside, not just what you do inside, and already he's in trouble again for something he did in Thailand.

In boxing, I consider Muhammad Ali the greatest of all time. In the ring I consider Floyd Mayweather the greatest of all time, but [because of the way he carried himself] outside of boxing, Muhammad Ali, to me, is the greatest boxer of all time.

I consider Khabib the greatest of all time because of what he did outside too, and what he's continuing to do outside, what he stands for, what he represents.

‘It’s possible’ we haven’t seen the end of Jon Jones

[A comeback] is possible with him. He's still a great, great fighter. I slightly give him the edge over Francis and Tom had he fought those guys, but I wouldn't have been surprised if Jones would have been 0-2 either with those guys.

Islam has never spoken to me about retiring after three fights - but Khabib’s father always spoke about retiring at 35

It was just my opinion [that Islam has three fights left]. I never talked to Islam about that. He never said he would retire at 35.

I just assumed because when I was around Khabib and his father, they would discuss that after 35 that they should all hang it up.

Father was about protecting yourself, being a professional, being a good father for your family, and taking care of your family.

So if you've accomplished that goal at 35, and you can provide for your family, I would think the father would want them to move on.

If Islam decides he wants to fight on, he'll fight on. He didn't discuss it with me. We never discussed how many fights he would have.

My advice to Islam Makhachev is continue as long as you feel healthy

In all fairness I could be correct about the three fights, but It could be six fights. It could be eight fights, anything's possible.

I would tell him Islam, If you're healthy and want to fight, and his body's strong, and he hasn't lost his skill set. I say, continue, so for me. It's not about 35 years of age.

It's when your body can't compete at the highest level, when you can't maintain that.

I anticipate Islam Makhachev with face JDM in October, November or December in Abu Dhabi, Vegas, New York

I'm hoping Islam faces Jack in August or September, I don't think July, because I look at what's already on the agenda. And I don't think it's gonna be in any of those.

But I anticipate we're gonna be in October, November, or December timeframe. I'm thinking it's gonna be one of those. I don't know which one.

Abu Dhabi right is in late October, I believe. And then we're talking Las Vegas, and I believe that October 5th is Las Vegas.

And then the next one after that would be Madison Square Garden. So maybe one of those three, the UFC knows where they want. I don't.

Tom Aspinall versus Alex Pereira is a ‘huge fight’ - Aspinall beats Gane ‘easy’.

Yes [the heavyweights] can’t compete with Aspinall.  Gane, in my opinion, based on how easily Jones dispatched of him - I don't think his ground game is there - so I think that Tom Aspinall's got the easy way to beat Gane -  take him down.

Aspinall versus Alex Pereira is a huge fight, but I just look at Aspinall's being too much on the ground. Too much weight, too, that guy, he's a beast of a man.
