There’s a new game in town at a Stoke casino to see who can grow the best moustaches and raise funds and awareness for men’s health issues.
A ten-strong team at Genting Club Stoke is embracing the Movember charity initiative this month by developing facial hair and inviting customers to join in and sport a ‘mo’ themselves.
The venue in Etruria Road, Hanley, will host a special fundraising event on Saturday 29 November with entertainment from The Slippery Hill Boys and prizes in a Best Mo competition for customers and staff.
Throughout the month a Pimms-based cocktail is available with £1 from each sale going towards the fundraising pot. Customers can also make a donation by using their Genting Reward points or visiting Genting Stoke’s Movember team donation page at http://moteam.co/genting-stoke
Organiser Doug Plant, a gaming floor manager, said: “I have grown a mo for Movember for the last couple of years and have persuaded colleagues to support the cause. Some are finding it easier than others. It’s going well and we’re hoping for some eye catching results by the end of the month.
“It’s not all about the boys. Head cashier Susan Farrington is doing her bit to raise awareness by wearing a fake moustache during her shifts.”
The annual campaign by the Movember Foundation charity aims to change the face of men’s health by sparking conversation about men’s health and raising funds for prostrate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health problems.
