Genting Club Riverlights Launch

November saw the launch of Genting’s new venture in Derby; Genting Club Riverlights. The team, led by Diane Cross, was pleased to open the doors on Thursday 17th November to host a VIP night, honouring local businesses and key contacts.

Genting Club Riverlights was honoured to have Chairman Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay, Chief Operating Officer Dato’ Lee Choong Yan alongside President and Chief Operating Officer Peter Brooks, all present to witness the Mayor cut the ribbon and officially announce Genting Club Riverlights open for business. Celebrities were also in attendance and included local TOWIE actress Maria Fowler, DFC midfielder, Lee Croft and Emmerdale star Suzanne Shaw.

Friday 18th November saw Adrenaline running high in the card room as the club hosted its inaugural poker tournament. Many also took the opportunity to relax with an expertly prepared drink and watch jazz singer Joe Stilgoe, singing swing classics from Frank Sinatra to Ray Charles.

On Saturday 19th November the club officially opened its doors to the public and a selection of competition winners were treated to a VIP evening, including a champagne reception, dinner at Fahrenheit restaurant and the best seats in the house to watch The Overtones perform. Several prize draws on the night resulted in many happy guests leaving with iPads, 3D TVs and holiday vouchers among other treats.
