Christmas comes early for retired roofer

A retired roofer from Torquay has struck gold in time for Christmas with a massive £15,276.37 win at his local Genting Casino.

Dave Hall is a regular at the Abbey Road casino and couldn’t believe his luck when he hit the jackpot playing the Fort Knox slot game.

He said: “It has been a tough year and my health hasn’t been that great, so this win is just the pick me up my family and I need. And the timing couldn’t be better with Christmas around the corner. I can now buy my lovely wife, Paula, an extra special gift.

“We also plan to hit the January sales and buy some furniture and other goodies for our flat, so we can do it up nicely. Money has been tight and this is a lovely amount to win as it will make a big difference to us without turning our lives upside down.”

This is also the first big win for Genting Casino Torquay’s new general manager Kevin Gale. He said: “I have only been at the casino for a couple of months, but during that time have got to know Dave. He is a lovely man, with a kind heart who does so much for other people. He really deserves this win and I couldn’t be happier for him.”

Genting Casino Torquay is a major employer and plays a key role in the local community, regularly supporting local charities including Cancer Research, RSPCA and Help for Heroes. The venue is a responsible, professional gaming destination that works closely with GamCare and other organisations to ensure that its customers have a great experience.
