Miami Dolphins v New Orleans Saints – NFL Betting Preview

Will Dolphins Get ‘The Sack' From Saints At The NFL London Game This Sunday?

This year, the NFL celebrates 10 years since the first regular season game was staged in London by playing a record four games in the capital. The big NFL clash this Sunday sold out an amazing nine months ago. The NFL International Series encounter between Miami Dolphins and New Orleans Saints at Wembley is tipped to be a high scorer. Each team is stacked on their offense, with over 49.5 points coming in at 17/20 and a 12-plus margin for Saints at 4/1 with Genting Bet. Meanwhile, the Dolphins are 8/1 for the same outcome.

The Saints have given Dolphins’ talisman Jay Cutler a serious sacking, 16 times since 2008 to be precise; including six times in one game back in 2011, in front of what was the largest crowd ever for a Saints game. They followed this up with seven sackings in a game against the Bears in 2013, with ‘the human statue’ on the winning side against New Orleans just once since 2008.

Bending The Knee

Long before the controversies around players taking a knee, Ryan Tannehill went down with a serious knee injury in training. The Dolphins coaxed Cutler out of retirement at a grizzled 34, offering the player $10 million. That decision is not looking good right now, with Cutler throwing only 2 touchdown passes in his 2 regular season games so far. In contrast, his Saints’ counterpart Drew Brees completed 22 out of 29 passes for 220 yards and three touchdowns last time out against the Panthers. Brees has started the season in style and boasts an incredible record of being the top ranked NFL quarterback in 5 of the last 7 seasons, with another top season expected. So, with immaculate timing, in Sunday’s game Cutler will face his nemesis.

Are Dolphins Taking A Dive?

Early-season hopes are fading fast for the Dolphins, and the postponement of their first day encounter with the Buccaneers due to Hurricane Irma hasn’t helped. This left the Dolphins with three straight games on the road, including the long haul to Wembley.

Evening Out The Odds

Even with The Saints odds on for a normal time win against Dolphins, 8/13 with Genting Bet, there are still factors in the Dolphins’ favour. For a start the Dolphins will feel more at home, given they’ve played three times on Wembley’s hallowed turf compared to Saints’ solitary one. Consequently, they will know a little more about the lie of the land and will have a bigger following behind them in the stands. Secondly, London-born running back Jay Ajayi will be at home too and raring to go. There is always the possibility of a tie (33/1 with Genting Bet) but there has only been one in a London NFL game, which was between Redskins and Bengals in 2016.

The Saints and Dolphins are both real outsiders to become the 52nd Super Bowl Champions in Atlanta at 80/1 with Genting Bet, with last season’s champions the Patriots 7/2 favorites to retain their title.
