1.15 - Derrinstown Irish Ebf Maiden Stakes (7f)
A maiden to launch Friday's card and not one in which those with form set a particularly exacting standard. Crossford was an unwanted 33/1 chance on debut at Doncaster's St Leger Meeting a fortnight ago but defied those odds with a strong late run to finish a close third. Charlie Hills' son of Dawn Approach ought to go close under in-form Tom Marquand with any improvement from that debut.
There are however dangers lurking amongst the newcomers, with top yards represented via Military Man, Wahraan and QUINTILLUS.
Charlie Appleby's Newmarket strike-rate over the last five years is an impressive 27 per-cent from 180 runners. His Dubawi colt is nicely related and with the yard in form and their two-year-olds doing well throughout the term, this Godolphin inmate should be going close under William Buick, who rides better than anyone at this venue in terms of producing winners.
1.50 - Tasleet British EBF Rosemary Stakes (Listed) (Fillies And Mares, 1m)
We've not seen Ummalnar since the summer of 2019, William Haggas' filly last sighted making short work of her rivals at Ascot (1m, good to firm) to win a handicap off a mark of 90 with any amount in hand. There's plenty scope for better as that was just her fifth racecourse outing (3-5) but the 440-day absence must be a minor worry.
Cloak Of Spirits has been nothing but consistent since beginning her season with a runner-up effort behind the outstanding Love in the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket, and Richard Hannon's keen going sort should be thereabouts back up in trip now eased into Listed company for the first time this term. She's an obvious contender on form.
Romola won in this grade at Pontefract in July but needs more to give away 3lb to this field after being well-beaten at Sandown since.
John Gosden and Frankie Dettori team up with the unbeaten and unexposed Bizzi Lizzi, 2-2 thus far but facing by some way her toughest assignment so far with this rise in class.
BOUNCE THE BLUES came from a long way back for a fast-finishing third in the Group 3 Sceptre Stakes at Doncaster recently on first start for Andrew Balding after arriving from Ireland. She was a Listed winner at Naas last month (7f, soft) and the way she came home on Town Moor hinted there's more to come now returned to this mile trip. Oisin Murphy takes over in the plate and they've got excellent claims.

2.25 - Princess Royal Muhaarar Stakes (Group 3) (Fillies And Mares, 1m4f)
Antonia De Vega and Sea Of Faith are penalised for Listed wins on their previous starts. The former made hard work of landing her Pontefract success in June and will need to be much sharper now. William Haggas' filly meanwhile did it the hard way from the front in France six days ago and, while value perhaps for more than that neck-verdict, will also need more in this company.
Alpinista finished nearest to Love in last month's Yorkshire Oaks and Sir Mark Prescott's filly is improving with racing. She was a Listed winner at Salisbury on penultimate start and commands plenty respect. Franconia surely didn't give her running at York in that same race and John Gosden's filly could easily put that behind her today. She shouldn't be dismissed in haste.
The one that strikes most is KATARA for Sir Michael Stoute and Ryan Moore. The Deep Impact filly readily accounted for her rivals over this trip on the July Course last time out on her first attempt at the trip. That amounts to solid form, with third home Cosmic Princess having finished closest to Sea Of Faith at Saint-Cloud last week. The selection is progressing quickly this season and has scope for better still.
3.00 - Shadwell Rockfel Stakes (Fillies' Group 2, 7f)
Monday made all the running to bag the Listed Ingabelle Stakes at Leopardstown earlier in the month, leaving the likes of stablemate More Beautiful well behind (fifth) and holding off 102-rated No Speak Alexander in the closing stages.
Aidan O'Brien has won this three times since 2007 and this twice-raced daughter of Fastnet Rock should hold leading claims with further improvement likely. Just four rivals face her but she won't get it all her own way under Ryan Moore now.
Santosha's Lowther run at York last month is best consigned to history and her earlier form, including a Group 3 win at Ascot over 6f, makes her interesting. She should do better and this 7f trip is likely to suit her.
Top on ratings is ISABELLA GILES for Clive Cox and Adam Kirby. Her only defeat in four starts was behind Santosha in that Ascot race but she put that behind her in uncertain terms when streaking clear by seven lengths to win the Group 3 Prestige Stakes at Goodwood since.
Considering that was on slow ground, the time she clocked was an impressive one. She made a winning debut on good ground at Leicester in June so this faster surface should be just fine and she may be the one to beat.

3.35 - Shadwell Joel Stakes (Group 2, 1m)
Glorious Goodwood winner Tilsit should be well matched with recent Haydock Group 3 winner Top Rank on lines through the beaten horses in those contests. Both remain capable of better things but, chances are, they need a good chunk of improvement if either Benbatl of KAMEKO present themselves at peak form.
Saeed bin Suroor's charge won this by five lengths having made the running on his seasonal bow last year. He was in good tune in the Middle East early in the year, winning two of three starts and has a major shot at retaining his crown now back from another break.
There's a danger Kameko becomes a rock to perish on but, having sided with him in last month's Juddmonte International at York over further, he's given another chance.
Getting beaten by Ghaiyyath isn't a stick to beat him with and that run appears to have confirmed to connections that what they have is a top-class miler.
The 2,000 Guineas winner didn't have much lucky in The Derby (fourth) and was denied a clear run in the Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood on his only run at a mile since he won here in June. He looked to be travelling with real menace when his progress was blocked and he might be able to recapture his very best form back on this track at this trip.
4.10 - Eqtidaar Godolphin Stakes (Listed, 1m4f)
A filly by Invincible Spirit, ALOE VERA started only twice last year and won them both, improving from her Chepstow debut to win a Listed event at Goodwood by three lengths over this trip in May.
She has been off the track since but trainer Ralph Beckett thinks plenty of her and this longer trip should be up her street. It's something of a concern that she lacks a run and her intended reappearance early in the season was abandoned late on. However, connections are keeping her in training and the manner of that victory at Goodwood last year suggested there would be more to come from her.
Progressive handicapper Laafy is worth a crack in this company after scoring over the trip at Ascot this month already. Loxley represents the sponsor and was beaten a nose in this event last year. He won a Group 2 in Dubai 202 days ago and has won fresh in the past, so he's a key danger; while fellow Godolphin runners Volcanic Sky and Walton Street have to be respected.
4.45 - Shadwell Farm Handicap (1m1f)
Lots of these arrive at the top of their games, amongst them last time winners Alqifaar and Make It Rain.
Owen Burrows' filly switches to the turf after winning over a mile at Kempton three weeks ago but must now prover her effectiveness on turf. Wolverhampton winner Make It Rain is 0-4 on turf but certainly acts on the surface and she represents a stable in superb form this season. The Night Of Thunder filly is much-feared.
Ex-Dermot Weld inmate KATTANI has finished second in two of her three runs since joining Mick Appleby, those latest two runs being over this trip at Windsor and Newbury. She was clear of the remainder when finding only an improver too good a week ago and might have a good chance from the same mark.
