West Ham v Brentford Preview And Predictions - Premier League Week Seven

Brentford look to continue their great start to life in the top-flight when they take on West Ham on Sunday. Thomas Frank's team sit ninth in the table with just the one loss and will take plenty of confidence following their 3-3 draw with league leaders Liverpool last time out. The Hammers will provide a stern test for the Bees following a great start to both their domestic and European campaigns and the win will keep them within touching distance of the top four. Check out our preview and predictions below and if that isn't enough then head over to the home page of the GENTING CASINO INSIGHTS and get more previews for all the weekend's big sporting action!

Recent Form

Both these sides have surprised many so far this season, especially the visitors as Brentford sit in the top half of the table with just one defeat from their six games so far.

They played out a thriller with Liverpool in their last encounter, with that ending in a 3-3 draw, and they’ll take huge amounts of confidence from that game knowing they can take it to the best teams in the league.

West Ham look to have pushed on slightly from last season, with question marks still remaining over how they’re going to juggle their domestic and European responsibilities.

A 2-0 win over Rapid Vienna on Thursday ensures they maintain their 100% start to their European campaign, and David Moyes will be desperate to wrap up that group as soon as possible in order to rest some of his star players.

He can afford no such luxury this weekend though as West Ham look to keep pace with the league’s big guns, and there showing no signs of slipping up at the moment.

Indeed, when including pre-season friendlies, the Hammers have now lost just one of their last 19 matches, and even that came away at Old Trafford when they had a chance to draw with a Mark Noble penalty late on, so they’ll certainly take some beating.

Both Teams To Score

West Ham have lost just one of their last 12 games against promoted sides, winning five of their six last season and while Brentford haven’t lost away from home so far this season, three games isn’t the greatest sample size and we’d expect that run to come to an end at some point, and there’s every chance it could be here.

What we would expect is a competitive game of fine margins, and while neither side has been notably impressive at the back, both have been on good goalscoring form and have strong attacking players that can cause a lot of problems.

The Hammers have only drawn a blank once in 12 matches across all competitions going back into May and while Brentford have failed to score twice from their eight games this season, they’ve scored 10 in their last two alone.

While it’s not been a market that’s landed a lot for the visitors so far in the league (twice in six games), both teams to score looks the right play here.

Both of those occasions were from the three games against sides currently above them in the table, like West Ham are, while that outcome has landed in all but one of West Ham’s league games so far.

PREDICTION:

BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
