Manchester United v Norwich Preview And Betting Tips – Premier League

After being outplayed last time out in the league by Arsenal and then by rivals Man City in the FA Cup, the pressure is ramping up again on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ahead of Manchester United's Premier League clash with bottom of the table Norwich. Tipsters Form Labs guide you to where the value might lie with their betting preview and tips for the game, while as ever we have plenty of value for another weekend of top-flight football with our boosted odds and Saturday 3PM Club offer.

Recent Form

Man Utd highlighted how far they have fallen in recent years with a feeble first half showing when hosting the ‘noisy neighbours’ in midweek and, although Marcus Rashford’s ‘consolation’ goal has given a small chance of revival in the second leg, they won’t be too hopeful of that and will likely turn their attention elsewhere as the fixtures begin to pile up.

The Red Devils now play six matches in 21 days, facing the likes of Wolves (twice), Liverpool and Man City in that time, whilst those fixtures come off the back of a fairly relentless fixture list already which has seen them have midweek games now for the last seven weeks since the November international break.

Moreover, they travel to Stamford Bridge and have a European last 32 immediately after the next set of international fixtures, so squad rotation will be required in this period, and could possibly start this weekend.

That recent defeat ended a run of 13 unbeaten matches at Old Trafford across all competitions, though their performances have been largely uninspired which has led to many fans calling for a change in management and direction for the club.

Despite the recent blow to team morale, the hosts have still only lost one match at ‘The Theatre of Dreams’ this term in the league alone after Patrick van Aanholt scored a 93rd minute winner back in August.

Indeed, they’re a respectable W5-D4-L1 across their fixtures here despite playing the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Leicester, Spurs and Arsenal. Meanwhile the Canaries have been abysmal, going W1-D2-L7 on the road this season as they now sit five points adrift at the bottom of the table and have a serious challenge on their hands to just stay up.

Norwich +1.5 Asian Handicap

While this looks like the perfect opportunity on paper for the red side of Manchester to make an immediate bounce back, the odds on the outright look far too short for a team playing with little, to no, consistency at the moment, while Norwich look to be coming to terms with the demands of Premier League football.

Despite Daniel Farke’s men losing five of their first six away matches by a minimum of two clear goals, they’ve recorded a victory over an Everton side still under Marco Silva, while they impressively took a point at the Kingpower in Gameweek 17.

In fact, they lost nine of their first 12 fixtures both home and away on their return to England’s top division, with eight coming by at least two clear goals, whilst since then, they haven’t lost by that margin in any of their subsequent nine outings, including stalemates in each of their last two against Spurs and Palace.

With this recent upturn in performances and the United side likely to be tweaked for this encounter, the Asian handicap appeals at just a shade shorter than evens.

Norwich +1.5 Asian Handicap At 19/20
