Tottenham v Liverpool Preview And Betting Tips – Premier League

Liverpool's win over Everton last time out in the FA Cup meant Klopp's team have now gone a full year without losing a match in all competitions, a remarkable record to bring into their Premier League clash against Tottenham on Saturday. Jose Mourinho will know his team needs to get results against the top six, starting with the League leaders, if they are going to hunt down a top-four finish this season. Tipsters Form Labs guide you to where the value might lie for the game, while former Spurs and Liverpool strikers Darren Bent and Emile Heskey give their opinions which you can watch below.

Recent Form

It was a nightmare evening for Spurs at the weekend with them being held to a 1-1 stalemate at Middlesbrough, who’re currently in the bottom half of the Championship, and now require an unnecessary replay.

Indeed, Jose Mourinho put out a full-strength side for that trip as only Harry Kane missed out through injury and it seems the energy bounce of his arrival at the club is starting to wear off.

Liverpool on the other hand, seem to be unbeatable at the minute with even their ‘kids’ turning over Carlo Ancelotti’s full-strength Everton team at Anfield in the FA Cup third round.

The Reds are drawing ever nearer to that Arsenal record of 49 unbeaten league matches as they currently sit on 37 games since defeat at Etihad back in January, whilst they’ve earnt 58 from a possible 60 points this term.

That’s a daunting prospect for any side playing them, but fortunately for the Lilywhites they have just the manager who knows a thing or two about winning the big games.

Spurs may have been poor in that recent cup fixture, but that did come on the road where they have been pretty woeful. A record of W2-D4-L11 since February says it all, while on home turf they’ve been much harder to overcome.

Only three times have they lost at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season from their 13 outings across all competitions although they haven’t exactly faced the best of sides, with the top two sides being Bayern in the Champions League which Mauricio Pochettino’s men lost 7-2 and Chelsea in the Premier League which they also lost 2-0.

That doesn’t bode well for their chances against a team likely to be at a level above both those teams, but one thing that does give us a little bit of Spurs optimism is their record against the ‘Big Six’ in recent seasons here.

Spurs And Liverpool To Draw

Their form at their respective North London stadia reads W8-D2-L6 from their 16 matches against such teams since 2016/17, as their form against Liverpool over that period here reads W1-D1-L1.

Further to that, the Portuguese manager seemed to be able to answer Jurgen Klopp’s tactics, with him going W1-D3-L1 over that period in his time at Man Utd, as his sole defeat came at Anfield.

With that in mind, we fancy getting behind the hosts in one form or another and the best way seems to be in backing the stalemate, with the Reds still looking fairly unbeatable.

Another market we would be interested in is for both teams to get on the scoreboard seeing as the Lilywhites have kept the joint fewest clean sheets in league and have only kept one from 12 across all competitions under current management.

However, considering the potential absence of Harry Kane from the Spurs starting line-up, we’d probably steer clear of that market considering how short the price is.

It should be noted though, that the hosts’ record is actually better without their top scorer on the pitch from the off over this season and last, as their win percentage increases by 7% to 58% without him, whilst they’ve also drawn their last two he’s missed.

Tottenham And Liverpool To Draw At 16/5
