Southampton made a dire start to the season as they lost their opening two league games to Palace and Tottenham, as well as going down 3-0 to Championship outfit Brentford in cup action.
However, they’ve since recovered with solid wins over Burnley and West Brom, while last time out they salvaged a 3-3 draw at Chelsea.
The Toffees have consistently excelled in the new campaign with seven wins from eight unbeaten appearances in all competitions, racking up a total of 26 goals across these.
A Merseyside derby with Liverpool is the only time they’ve dropped points, and with victories in all three road trips to Tottenham, Fleetwood and Palace, they appear a good price to get something from this game.

Both teams scored in the last five of these, with Everton winning despite conceding in fixtures with West Brom, Palace, West Ham and Brighton before their stalemate with Liverpool.
Both teams have also scored in all seven head to heads between these two since 2017/18 and we can envisage a similar outcome here.

Although the hosts should be able to test Everton’s backline, the form of the current league leaders encourages us to get behind them regardless.
