Sheffield United v Tottenham Betting Tips – Premier League Week 19

Been a long time coming, however Sheffield United finally registered their first win of the season when they edged Newcastle 1-0 in their midweek Premier League clash. Chris Wilder will be relived his team finally got off the mark, although he will be well aware they have plenty of work to do if they are going to remain in the top-flight. Tottenham have stuttered in recent weeks, much to the frustration of Jose Mourinho, however they remain very much in the title race, just 6-points off the league leaders. Tipsters Form Labs guide you to where the value might lie with their betting tips for the game, while as ever we have some additional value with our Premier League Boosted Odds which you can claim below.

Recent Form

The Blades have suddenly sprung to life with back-to-back victories over Bristol Rovers in the FA Cup and then Newcastle in league action.

However, the Magpies were reduced to 10 men on the stroke of half-time with the game still goalless, and those wins both came by narrow one-goal margins and are their only successes this season.

Sheffield Utd are still rooted to the bottom of the table and a full nine points adrift of 17th place, so we’re unconvinced that they’ll pick up any points here.

Having been briefly touted as potential title challengers, Jose Mourinho’s Spurs have slipped down to sixth in the table after a run of just one victory in six league appearances (W1-D3-L2).

They have however intersected this streak with cup victories over Championship outfits Stoke (3-1) and Brentford (2-0), as well as minnows Marine (5-0).

Sheffield Utd still appear destined for the drop with a squad more suited to the second tier, and Tottenham’s recent wins over the Potters and the Bees suggest they should extract maximum points here.

Tottenham To Win To Nil

The hosts are a miserable W1-D2-L18 in the top flight dating back into July and a lack of output has been a consistent theme. Only once across this spell did Chris Wilder’s men score more than once, in a 3-2 defeat to Man Utd, as they drew a blank in 12 of their defeats with eight finishing 1-0.

Mourinho loves a tight backline and across all competitions, eight of Tottenham’s past nine victories have been accompanied by clean sheets.

Tottenham To Win 2-0

All but one of these victories saw his side triumph by at least two clear goals, with four of them finishing 2-0, and that scoreline holds some interest here.

Moutinho should welcome back Steven Bergwijn from illness here and his only absentee at present is midfielder Giovani Lo Celso, as Gareth Bale returned to the bench for their last two outings to hand an extra option to supplement the attack.

Wilder has greater concerns and although he could welcome back Enda Stevens and George Baldock here, Ollie McBurnie, Jack Robinson, Jack O’Connell and Sander Berge all remain sidelined.

The latter two are particularly important for the Blades, with defender O’Connell having being absent for almost the entirety of their prolonged poor form, while Berge’s injury on Christmas Eve leaves them even more short on creativity.

The Norwegian midfielder had been linked with the likes of Man Utd, Liverpool and Napoli before somewhat surprisingly signing for Sheffield Utd, while at six foot and three inches, would have been useful in set-piece situations.
