Newcastle v Everton Preview And Betting Tips – Premier League

Carlo Ancelottti began his reign at the helm of Everton with a 1-0 Boxing Day win over Burney. This weekend they continue their festive schedule away to Newcastle who were on the receiving end of a 4-1 thrashing by Manchester United last time out. Form Labs break down the action with their betting preview and tips for the game while we have plenty of value with our boosted odds and Saturday 3PM Club.

Recent Form

Steve Bruce’s Newcastle have been seriously impressive at St James’ Park this season, with their sole defeat coming on the opening day against Arsenal.

That leaves them unbeaten in eight matches there now, whilst across the last six since October they’ve beaten all of Man Utd, Bournemouth, Southampton and Palace, whilst also drawing with both Wolves and Man City.

Everton on the other hand, have won just once from their nine trips this term, as only Villa have picked up fewer points on their travels.

Newcastle Draw Or Double Chance

They’re now in safe hands with Carlo Ancelotti at the reins, but we don’t think that’ll be enough to immediately turn around their woeful form on the road.

That sole victory came at a dismal Southampton side, who currently hold the joint-worst home record in the league, whilst the Toffees lost to all of Villa, Bournemouth, Burnley, Brighton, Leicester and Liverpool, and with the exceptions of those last two, that’s hardly the most daunting run of fixtures.

To further the misery for the visitors, the Magpies managed to take four points from their two meetings last season, coming out on top 3-2 in this exact fixture.

Moreover, the Merseyside outfit have now only won four times on the road since the start of last term from their 25 trips when excluding visits to last seasons’ relegated sides Fulham, Huddersfield and Cardiff, although they still lost at the former.

With that in mind, they certainly look worth taking on and the double chance looks the value option seeing as Newcastle very rarely lose in front of the Toon Army.
