Kilmarnock v Celtic Betting Tips – Scottish Premiership Week 27

Celtic failed in their bid to make one of their three games in hand count when they were stunned 2-1 by St Mirren on Saturday, a result that sees the defending champions remain 23-points behind rivals Rangers and seemingly out of the title race. The Scottish Premiership action continues midweek with week 27 and a visit to Kilmarnock who will be looking to ramp up the pressure on Neil Lennon with a first win over the Hoops since 2018. Tipsters Form Labs guide you to where the value might lie with their betting tips for the game, while we have plenty of additional value with our midweek boosted odds which you can claim below.

Recent Form

Celtic have now gone six without a win (W1-D3-L2) and with Neil Lennon openly questioning whether the squad is playing for him, there appears little point to the Northern Irishman being kept in the post at this point.

The gap to Rangers remains an unassailable 23 points, with the Hoops having used one of their spare games in hand as they lost to St. Mirren this weekend, as there appears to be no end in sight to the ongoing crisis.

Full-back Jeremie Frimpong has departed for Leverkusen this winter as well, with others vying for the opportunity to jump ship with the league clearly gone.

Meanwhile, to make matters worse, even the planning for next season has gone awry as Preston centre-back Ben Davies is seemingly headed to Liverpool instead.

Unlike Celtic, Kilmarnock were more ruthless in axing Alex Dyer from the dugout, following a run of eight defeats from 11 matches since December (W2-D1-L8).

Both victories came over two of the three sides below them in the table, with as many as five of those defeats ending 2-0, including the last time these two met.

Kilmarnock +1.5 Asian Handicap

Although Celtic have pretty much had it all their own way on home turf in recent head-to-heads, away at Rugby Park they’re only W2-D1-L2 since 2018.

Moreover, Kilmarnock have lost by more than a single strike in just one of nine home games since late October, a 2-0 defeat to Aberdeen just prior to Christmas, as even Rangers could only put one past them when visiting in November.

Across all competitions, Celtic are just W2-D4-L3 on their travels since the October international break.

Their sole clean sheet over this period was picked up at rock-bottom Hamilton as both teams scored in seven of these games, while six of the nine games in total saw Celtic concede at least twice.

Both Teams To Score

With Neil Lennon’s side drifting and a new arrival on the bench at Killie imminent, the hosts may find motivation easier to come by and are worth getting behind on the Asian handicap.

However, both teams to score also holds some appeal with the Hoops (and especially Shane Duffy) hopeless at the back all season, with that bet landing in four of five head-to-heads since the start of last season.

Kilmarnock +1.5 Asian Handicap At 43/50
