This game will take place behind closed doors and it remains to be seen if that affects Juventus’ dominant home form. Maurizio Sarri’s side have won 16 of 17 unbeaten games on their own patch across all competitions this season, including each of the past seven by an aggregate 21-3 scoreline.
The Turin giants do however come into this fixture smarting from a defeat away in Lyon, leaving them a poor W3-D1-L3 since late January at all venues.
The other defeats were inflicted by Napoli and Verona, while the victories came over bottom-half outfits Fiorentina, Brescia and rock-bottom SPAL.
Inter enjoyed serene passage past Ludogorets in their last two outings and will want to improve upon their previous two domestic games where they lost out to both Napoli and Lazio.
A defeat here would deal a fatal blow to their title challenge, where they’re currently six points adrift with a game in hand.
Antonio Conte’s team have however struggled on occasion against the highest quality opponents, as facing Barcelona, Dortmund and the top six sides domestically, Inter are just W3-D2-L6 this season.
Two thirds of those victories came at home back in September and October, while the other was on their travels to a Napoli side still in recovery mode after a poor spell of form.
The Old Lady have won four of five unbeaten home games against Inter since 2015/16 across all tournaments, keeping clean sheets on every occasion.
Given Inter’s struggles against high-quality opposition, we’d expect Juve to send Inter to the fringes of the title race here.
However, we wouldn’t want to back the win to nil. Of those six aforementioned defeats the visitors have had against the top sides, five saw both teams find the net, but all came by one-goal margins and the same seems probable here.
-1 Handicap Draw
The Nerazzurri will be mightily glad to have captain Samir Handanovic back between the sticks for this fixture, but Maurizio Sarri has all his key players available and veteran Giorgio Chiellini in particular could make a difference, especially having lost just one of his 14 home games against Inter across all competitions.
Juve have conceded just 0.62 goals per game in the league since the start of last season when Chiellini takes to the field from the off.
However, that rises to exactly one per game in his absence and his presence will surly make a difference.
