This is France’s last warm up before they have a crack at going one step further than they did at Euro 2016. They lost to Portugal in the final five years ago, and for a few of the squad this is the one trophy missing off their CV.
They got their preparation off to a strong start with a convincing 3-0 win over Wales, with all of Kylian Mbappe, Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele getting on the scoresheet to make it five wins in six unbeaten games now.
Bulgaria, in all honesty, shouldn’t provide too much of a threat as they seek just their third win in 28 matches, and with the previous two coming against Gibraltar and the Czech Republic, it’s hard to see how they’re going to compete with the quality of this French side.
Didier Deschamps may opt to rotate a bit and try out some of the names that are pushing for a starting spot, though the depth in the squad is arguably the strongest in the world at the moment and whatever teams they field they’ll be up for the occasion.

France To Win To Nil
The last thing that Les Bleus will want is to pick up an injury to a key player, so we’d expect the likes of Mbappe, Kante, Griezmann and Varane to be rested, and that will have an effect on goals at both ends.
These pre-tournament friendlies are often stale affairs with neither side wanting to go hell-for-leather and pick up a knock, so the intensity quite often just isn’t there.
Five of France’s last seven now have seen fewer than three goals, and there’s little suggestion this will be any different.
France haven’t conceded in any of their last three games, and with the Bulgarians not exactly prolific in front of goal, netting just twice in their last six outings, the win to nil should appeal as well.
France have won all three previous meetings between these two nations, scoring eight goals in the process so we’d be more convinced of the win to nil bet than the unders.
Indeed, they’ve lost to nil in their last four meetings with top tier nations Italy, England (twice) and France and we can’t envisage them getting a host of chances here either with nothing at all to play or prepare for.
