Chelsea were level at the top of the table less than a month ago heading into their clash with fellow high-flyers Tottenham.

However, a run of one victory from four league games leaves them down in seventh place and trailing new league leaders Liverpool by six points, and in fact they sit just a single point ahead of their visitors here.

The Hammers could have moved above the Blues if they’d capitalized on Christian Benteke’s sending off last time out, but the stalemate with Crystal Palace still leaves them with just two defeats from their past 10, as they’ve won four of the last six.

Those losses were inflicted by Man Utd and Liverpool, while they also suffered defeat to Arsenal earlier in the campaign. However, that doesn’t mean David Moyes’ side haven’t been competitive in big games, with two of those defeats coming by a single-goal margin.

West Ham have also had score draws with both Tottenham and Man City this season, as well as downing Wolves and Leicester by a combined 7-0 scoreline, so they certainly shouldn’t be discounted from taking something here.

West Ham +1.25 Asian Handicap

The Hammers will fancy their chances given their recent record against the Blues, losing just one of the past six meetings as they did the double over them last season.

A 3-2 win for David Moyes’ team in the last meeting was a little unusual however, with each of the other five clashes featuring fewer than three goals.

Draw And Both Teams To Score

Chelsea may have lost twice in a row this week away at Everton and Wolves, but both defeats came by one-goal margins, while they had produced a 17-game unbeaten streak in all competitions before those losses.

Back at Stamford Bridge they’ve lost just once in 16 appearances, playing with 10 men for an entire half against Liverpool as Sadio Mane bagged a second-half brace.

However, four of their last seven on home turf have ended in stalemates, as Southampton, Sevilla, Tottenham and Krasnodar all walked away unbeaten.

An incredible 17 of West Ham’s 18 draws since October 2018 have seen both teams find the net, including each of the last 10, while across all competitions 11 of Chelsea’s 14 stalemates since the start of last season have seen both sides register.

Although the score draw appeals, the safer option is to back the visitors on the Asian Handicap, taking some cover on the narrow home win.

West Ham are a tough unit to break down these days under current management, especially with the solid midfield axis of Declan Rica and Tomas Soucek, and going back just over a year they’ve only tasted defeat by a two-goal margin or more on three occasions from 17 league road trips.

West Ham +1.25 Asian Handicap At 17/20

Draw And Both Teams To Score At 17/4
