Chelsea enjoyed an impressive evening in the FA Cup against champions elect Liverpool at Stamford Bridge midweek, establishing a 2-0 lead after 64 minutes, though the Reds did also have their chances and were victim to a goalkeeping blunder by Adrian as Kepa was inspired down the other end.

Jurgen Klopp also shuffled his pack with as many as seven changes from the team that suffered defeat at Watford, but nonetheless, he still fielded the likes of Sadio Mane, Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson, Fabinho and Joe Gomez.

Everton can count themselves very unlucky to not have come away from Old Trafford last weekend with all three points after their stoppage-time winner was ruled out, but Carlo Ancelotti’s men continue to impress.

Indeed, the visitors are W6-D5-L2 from 13 league outings since the departure of Marco Silva in December, with those defeats coming by fine one-goal margins at the Etihad and the Emirates.

Of course, it’s a well known fact how poor the Toffees have been against the ‘Big Six’ down the years. They’ve lost 23 of 34 winless such trips since 2014/15, while in addition they’ve also lost away at Leicester both this season and in their title-winning campaign.

However, with improving performances under Carlo Ancelotti, you get the feeling they’ll fancy their chances of ending that woeful run.

Everton To Beat Chelsea Or The Draw

The Blues are hardly excelling at the minute as the win over Liverpool was just their third in nine outings since mid-January, with their other victories coming over an out-of-form Spurs and bottom-half Championship side Hull by single-goal margins.

Moreover, in the league alone they’ve won just three of their last eight at the Bridge, losing to all of West Ham, Bournemouth, Southampton and Man Utd, while their victories came over that Lilywhites side, Burnley and relegation battlers Villa.

To make matters worse, the influential Mateo Kovacic and midweek goalscorer Willian have both suffered Achilles injuries last time out.

In the 10 league games Kovacic hasn’t started this term, their win percentage drops 10% to 40%, while it’s an even bigger fall from grace in the eight games the Brazilian winger hasn’t been on the pitch from the off, reducing 30% to 25%.

Furthermore, Jorginho is suspended and N’Golo Kante looks very doubtful and so Lampard looks very thin on the ground in midfield, not to mention the doubts surrounding Tammy Abraham, Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi further forwards.

The Toffees may a poor record against the better sides in the division, but that hasn’t exactly counted against them in this fixture in recent times.

They’ve won half of their four unbeaten head-to-heads with the Blues since December 2017, including two-goal winning margins at Goodison Park in the two most recent meetings.

That certainly gives Everton the edge for us, but with the draw a very possible option, we’ll give ourselves some cover and back Everton on the Double Chance.
