Celtic are aiming for their 10th straight title and they appear to have a relatively straight forward fixture to kick off the campaign.
The Hoops have won all 12 head to heads with Hamilton over the past four seasons, as well as the past eight at Celtic Park since 2015, so it’s no surprise that they’re a ridiculously short price to take the spoils once again.
In fact, the visitors are just W3-D3-L18 against top-four finishers over the past two campaigns, trailing at the break in all but three of those defeats, as the few points they did manage were typically captured against the weaker teams from this sample.
In 2018/19 they managed a win over Aberdeen and a couple of stalemates with Kilmarnock, while last season four of the seven points they picked up came from clashes with Motherwell, as a shock 1-0 win over Rangers was the only time they faced up to a proper challenge resembling what they’ll encounter here.

The outcome is made even more inevitable given this will take place at Celtic Park, where the hosts completed W/W HT/FT doubles in 11 of 15 league matches last term.
That includes each of the last eight when excluding Rangers and Aberdeen, who have been the best teams beyond the Hoops in recent times, so although it may be a short price it’s practically banker material.
Hamilton have finished either 10th or 11th in each of the past five seasons now as they’ve continually defied predictions of relegation.
Last season ended early owing to the coronavirus pandemic, seeing the relegation play-offs that Hamilton looked bound for scrapped, and with a lack of financial muscle this may well prove the year they finally face the drop.
To make matters worse for the visitors, Hamilton head coach Brian Rice is down to the bare bones as financial necessity has seen a number of his squad depart.
The club is even going without a reserve team this season and an inexperienced side cannot be expected to compete with the dominant force in the land.
There might an argument to suggest Celtic’s defence is a tad weaker this term and particularly in goal, with Fraser Forster returning to parent club Southampton following his loan spell and veteran Craig Gordon moving on as well.
However, Scott Bain saw a fair amount of action in 2018/19 and over the past two seasons, Celtic have won 14 of 17 unbeaten games with the 28-year-old between the sticks as he registered 13 clean sheets.
